Gobsmasha Part 2

Right, rivets.
I used my 1/16th in hole punch on a sheet of  .5mm sheet to make the rivets, lots of them. I used a brand new hobby knife blade to stab the rivets and glue them into place.  I did this all by eye, no weedy premeasuring for me!

What would you like to see?

While I'm on a roll with my ork army, I also enjoy doing one off concept minis. I've got some plans in the works for a Beastman concept and a Demiurg build, but would like to solicit the community for more ideas.

Does anyone have any requests? Maybe Tau allies?

I can make no promises about feasibily or timeline, but I can keep track of parts used in case the idea gets legs. I would ask for infantry only, nothing bank breaking. I can't shell out money for a megarachnid.

Post suggestions in the comments.

Thx!

Gobsmasha Part 1

I do love Ork vehicles.  I love the fact that the final look is open to interpretation.  I love how they are comically ramshackle.  I love how simply brutal they are. Most of all, I love building 'em!  I need some heavy gunz in this Speed Freeks army.  I always wanted to build a Gobsmasha so 'ere we go!  The very old Epic system had fantastic vehicles:
So...many...Mek...dreams...
Whew, shake it off.  Gobsmasha for now.

Big Boss PiW Part 6-Finished

With the exception of his Evil Sunz glyph, he's finally done.  I added some scratch built hydraulic rams to his legsbuilt up his shoulders more, covered gaps and uglies with more armor plates and finally added a Kromlech head.  I enjoy the comedy that orks bring to the table and the idea of a giant ork boss, all cyborky and armored up with a tiny metal head struck me as funny.  May I present Klanka Bucket'ead:

Ork Trukk #2 Part 5-Finished

The final work here was the last little bit of cleanup and adding the rivets.  I also roughed up the nice edges with my dremel.  Whew!

Ork Trukk #2 Part 4

Home stretch now.  Focused on the back, adding Trukk rails as passenger pipes, the big shoota and the wreckin ball.  I spliced the wrecker to the grabbing claw arm from the battle wagon kit to get the lift arm.  Some rather orky bracing and it's good to go.

Ork Trukk #2 part 3

I focused on the front end, getting the engine finished by adding the exhausts, fan, radiator and front grill.  The left pipes are stock, but the right side are from the bomma kit.  It required bending the pipe to make it work. A little heat from a candle is all it took.  The grill is just stacked slabs of strip card capped with a Kan shoulder plate.

Ork Trukk #2 Part 2

Progress made.  I added some detail to the cab and installed the engine.  The visor on the roof came out of my bitz box, and the blower on the engine is a Stormboy pack. I started the back deck with a piece of Plastruct diamond plate, with one of the sides of the bed cut off of one of the trukk kit front end plates.  Not too much to say about the build, really...

Ork Trukk #2 Part 1

I've started on my second trukk for my Waaagh. I took inspiration from a rat rod tow truck pic I found online. I started the build on the standard trukk chassis and went from there.
I used the standard trukk cab baseplate and firewall, mainly because I was lazy and I had them. I scratch built the rest of the cab with 1 mm plasticard. In keeping with my theme I lowered the frame. In the rear I flipped the axle over. In the front I moved the axle to the front of the chassis, away from the suspension.

Belial Conversion -Guest Post!

Hello All!
I go by Misrael on the Ordo Fanactius forums, I am also related to Scott but I lack the Conversion skills he has but today I got frisky and made a Belial from the new Deathwing Command/ Deathwing Knights box set.
With the new Deathwing Command/ Deathwing Knights box set I looked over the parts and figured out I had all the parts to make a Belial Master of the Deathwing. First I chose the legs with the studs on the left leg. Next I took a Deathwing Knight torso with the Iron Halo looking bit on it and the Hooded Head that shows just the lower part of the face. Then I used the Power Sword and Storm Bolter that would be used for a unit leader. Then the final touches are the banner from the Dark Angel Veteran sprue and Terminator shoulder shield, the last thing is the cloak that comes in the new Deathwing box. That's it. Simple and looks good and I think looks better then the GW Belial model.

Big Boss PiW Part 1

I know, I know... I said the next project was a vehicle. And it is. At home.  I'm starting a Progress in Work (see what I did there) on my lunch hour.  I  figure I can plunk away at this build a little at a time and have myself a new Boss at the end.

I need a Boss to lead the Boyz from the ground, one I can stuff in a wagon and surround him with meatshields, or using him to lead Nobz or some such.  He needed to be big, really big.  And meky to fit my theme. Off to the desk!
My work area.  Very exciting.  Stay away if you have a nut allergy.

Getting back on track

The holidays kicked my ass.  I've got a bad case of Oooo shiny syndrome but the blog will keep me on task. The next series of ork projects are vehicles.  What I need from you is how you want to see the progress.  Detailed? Finished only? Somewhere in the middle?
